Children are typically referred by other physicians for opinion, diagnosis, and treatment for conditions that include childhood glaucoma, cataract, ocular malformation, retinal degeneration, uveitis, complications of retinopathy of prematurity and trauma, amblyopia and strabismus, visual inattentiveness and cortical visual impairment, nystagmus, acquired and developmental neurological conditions including developmental delay and autism, educational concerns, hydrocephalus, optic atrophy, genetic and metabolic conditions with ocular manifestations, and as part of a comprehensive evaluation of a child with an incompletely understood condition.  Older children and adults with similar concerns can also be seen for treatment, ongoing care, and to understand patterns of inheritance.
